Just thought I'd say hello... got back from a week of vacation up north and heading back to work tomorrow. Can't believe how fast a week can go or that tomorrow is August 18th already. Where did the summer go?

Now the "sqeeters" and ticks are a different story
So what's the preferred way to remove ticks these days? Since I don't smoke anymore the lit cig or hot match trick isn't very opertunistic :@
Experts say a tweezer does just fine....a steady tug and out they come. Cigs, vaseline and other ways do not work. Old wives tales.
I just marry a CVT (certified veterinary technician) and keep her around for, say 30 plus years. Cheryl can remove those little buggers like nobody's business.
Randy - Can Cheryl come up north with us this week?
We are heading up to our place on Sunrise Lake in Mountain and are praying that the ticks are not as bad as they were two weeks ago. Jim had 16 of them on him; I had 3 and the dog 1. Unbelievable, huh? Even with using Frontline monthly, the dog still got Lymes disease and had to be treated. They are always fun to try to get out but typically pulling them with a tweezers does the trick. We have these tick removers too but honestly don't think we have used them ever. As far as mosquitoes (which are extremely bad too), we bought a Thermacell mosquito repellent unit and it seems to work fairly well at keeping them away in a 15' radius.
Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July! We are on vacation until July 14th. Yippee... :B

I have a question for everyone. Have you ever heard of Explore Wisconsin? They've been bugging us to get a page for the store on their site, but I must say, I never heard of them before . . .
Has anyone used that site before?
It's kind of pricey, so I'm having my doubts . . .

Julie --- can't say I have ever seen this and with working at one of the premier theater destinations in Wisconsin, you'd think we would have known about it.

Have a great time at the spring rally everyone... hope to see all of you in fall! Busiest time of year for me at the P.A.C. so unable to join ya. If anyone wants Wicked tickets, I suggest getting a group of 20+ together and calling me. That is the hot show this season!
Enjoy a couple of Southern Comfort Old Fashions for me--- that is my favorite drink. (sweet, garnished with two cherries)

The signs were painted and had a picture of a PUP and a fire and chairs, ect...I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get one?? Maybe not the same ones, but somewhere I could get one?

We, too, bought ours in the Dells, at the same place. Last summer, there was a guy in Minocqua that carved wood signs as well. Typically, the Fox River Mall in Appleton also contracts someone during the holiday season. Good luck!

I missed 5 days of work with the flu the last week of February but was out of commission a total of 9 days and Jim missed 3 days of work (5 days total with the weekend included). I had hoped he wouldn't get it but we weren't that lucky. It hits you hard and I have never felt that bad in my life. We just picked up Jim's dad last night as he was taken by ambulance last week to the hospital for influenza and pneumonia. He is still weak and recovering but at least back at the assisted living home.

I was wondering about camping world since I see a sign up on 151 on the way to Madison.
My Monday nights are now full for 10 weeks, I'm enrolled in our citizen police academy. What this means is I get to learn what the police go through but in a shorter version. Tonight is firearms training & we get to sign up for our time slot to join a police officer on a ride along one night 7 p.m.-3 a.m.. Every week offers something new to try & do. Should be fun.
One of my co-workers is in this in Appleton. She is on her 5th or 6th week and has learned alot. Last Friday, she did the ride along with an officer on the 8pm-12am shift and ended up sitting at our local hospital until 4am as they got a psychiatric call. She said it was very interesting...

Can you tell we have both been out sick with the flu for the past week? It's taking us both awhile to get back into the swing of things. I hope none of you have gotten it; it was the worst we both have felt in years--like you got hit by a truck!

Wow.... sounds like those to the south of us got hit hard. For once, we aren't shoveling. Had about 1-2" over night and that was it; today was fine here. Glad to hear it too as Mamma Mia! is in town and selling very well. Learned today that The Lion King in Milwaukee canceled its opening night performance tonight.
If any of you have questions about Saturday, let us know. Otherwise all those attending Mamma Mia! in Appleton or going out to dinner at Pullmans, we'll see you at 5pm. The show was great; saw it last night for the 4th time. Dragged Jim to the show and cast party too. :B

We, too, looked at the Zinger's at the Green Bay show. Liked the 19' and the 25' one. Very nice trailers!

Just got back a little while ago from the WBAY RV & Camping Show.... With the weather tonight, it was pretty quiet. (actually kind of nice in the fact you could talk to whomever you wanted and go into campers easily). Stopped and talked to Pat and Carey Merz too.
I'll be sending a PM to those going out to dinner and Mamma Mia! on February 9 in a week or so.

Next Sunday night can't come soon enough...
The Green Bay Packer website had next week's game posted as soon as the Giants won the game. It's a 5:30pm game next week so I wonder how many people will be calling in on Monday???
I'm sure that means the WBAY RV & Camping Show will no longer take place on Sunday and those that are attending The Wedding Singer at the PAC are going to want to exchange their tickets.

I think we may plan on going on Thursday night; no charge with a non-perishable food donation. If I win tickets on the radio like I did last year, then we'll most likely go on Friday night. It wasn't as busy and more enjoyable to look at the various rv's.

Jim and I are both sick with a nasty cold; good thing we are both off of work this week. Didn't make for the best time at Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan last night but we made the best of it. Neat place!
Only a couple more weeks and look what will be in northeast Wisconsin:

Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena and Shopko Hall
Also, don't forget about our mid-winter RV.NET get-together on February 9 in Appleton! We will be going to Pullman's for dinner and then for those that purchased tickets, going to see Mamma Mia! at the Fox Cities PAC. Tickets are still available but getting limited; private message me if you are interested in joining us for either dinner, the show or both.
